Why ValiTrac

Measurement teams spend their time in spreadsheets, logger exports, certificates and standards — repeating the same calculations, hunting for the same clauses, and writing the same reports. General-purpose AI is fluent but unreliable exactly where this work is unforgiving: numbers and citations. ValiTrac exists to put a language model inside a controlled engineering system rather than in front of one.

Engineering-first approach

The platform started as a tested engineering core — a deterministic calculation engine, a rights-gated knowledge base and a temperature-mapping workflow with a human review gate — before it had any interface. Every product surface is built on top of that core, not instead of it.

Evidence-backed AI

Answers cite evidence actually retrieved from an approved knowledge base. When nothing relevant is found, the assistant says so rather than answering from memory. Sources are rights-checked at query time, so revoked material is never surfaced.

Deterministic calculations

Uncertainty combination, expansion, statistics, drift and decision rules are computed by versioned engineering code. The model decides when a calculation is needed and explains the result; it never performs the arithmetic.

Human review

Any answer that involved a calculation, a retry or a judgement about evidence relevance is flagged for review. Mapping reports stay marked not technically approved until a reviewer completes a checklist. The review is the product, not an afterthought.

Long-term vision

From assistant to platform: accounts and projects, mapping and calibration workflows, reviewed reports and, in time, laboratory intelligence — each capability added only when its backend is real and tested, and labelled honestly until then.
