Service 01
Temperature mapping report review
You have done the study. We check the analysis and the report against WHO Technical Supplement 8, EU GDP and Annex 15 — before an auditor does.
Quality and validation teams who have a completed mapping study, or a contractor's report, and want a second technical opinion before it is approved or presented at an inspection.
You send
- The mapping report, in whatever format you have it
- The raw logger export, if you can share it — it is not required, but the review is stronger with it
- The protocol and acceptance criteria the study was run against
- Calibration certificates for the loggers, if they are not already in the report
You get back
- A written review listing every finding, each marked critical, major or minor
- The specific clause or guidance behind each finding, so it can be acted on without argument
- An independent recalculation of the headline statistics where the raw data is provided, using the same deterministic engine behind the calculators on this site
- A short call to walk through it, if you want one
What is actually checked
Does the report stand on its own?
- Study identification, protocol reference, dates, loading condition and season are all stated
- The dataset is described: logger count, calibration evidence, sampling interval, duration, record count, unit and time zone
- Raw data is referenced and retained, not just summarised
- Every exclusion and correction carries its reason
Is the analysis sound?
- Data-quality findings are present and each has a decision — gaps, flatlines, abnormal jumps, duplicate timestamps, unit ambiguity
- Hot and cold spots are identified by a criterion fixed in advance, not chosen after the data arrived
- The coldest air position is distinguished from the coldest product position where they differ
- Excursions are listed with sensor, start, duration and peak — not only a count
- Per-sensor statistics are reconciled against the study-wide summary
Does the acceptance decision hold up?
- Acceptance criteria trace back to the storage conditions of the products actually held
- Measurement uncertainty is accounted for at the limits, with the decision rule stated
- Any failure is reported plainly, with a proportionate response rather than a softened conclusion
- Limitations say what the study could not show
- Monitoring locations follow from the results, and alarm limits leave time to act

Mapping data analysis and draft report
Send the logger export. Get back the full analysis and a draft report, with the data-quality checks done before any statistic is trusted.
Teams who have run the study and do not want to spend a week in a spreadsheet — or who have been handed a folder of CSVs and a deadline.
You send
- The logger exports, in CSV or XLSX, however the loggers produced them
- Sensor identifiers and what location each one was at
- Your acceptance criteria, or a note that you would like help setting them
- The protocol, if one exists
You get back
- A draft report following the structure in our published template, marked not technically approved until your reviewer signs it
- The per-sensor statistics as a spreadsheet you keep
- A written list of data-quality findings, each with a recommended decision
- The analysis inputs and outputs, so your reviewer can check the working rather than take it on trust
What is actually checked
Before any number is computed
- Temperature unit confirmed from the export, never inferred from the magnitude of the values
- Timestamps checked for order, duplicates, interval consistency and daylight-saving jumps
- Gaps found and quantified per sensor
- Flatlines, abnormal steps and oscillation flagged as possible sensor faults
- Every column tied to a sensor identifier and a described location
Then the analysis
- Per-sensor minimum, maximum, mean and spread, plus the study-wide summary
- Hot and cold spots by the criterion agreed in advance
- Every excursion with sensor, start, end, duration and peak
- Acceptance evaluated against your criteria, with measurement uncertainty applied
- Recommended monitoring locations derived from the results

Frequently asked questions
- How much does a temperature mapping report review cost?
- It is quoted per study, because the work scales with the number of sensors and the complexity of the space — a pharmacy refrigerator and a high-bay warehouse are not the same job. Send the report and you get a fixed quote before any work begins. No hourly billing.
- Will this make my mapping study compliant?
- No. A review tells you what a competent reader — and an auditor — will find in your report, and what to do about it. Compliance is a property of your quality system and your actual practice, not of a document review. ValiTrac is not an accredited laboratory and grants no approval.
- Do you need the raw logger data?
- Not for a report review, but it makes the review much stronger: with the raw export the headline statistics can be independently recalculated rather than taken on trust. Without it, the review covers the report's structure, reasoning and traceability.
- What if the review finds the study does not support its conclusions?
- Then it says so, plainly, with the specific guidance behind each finding. That is the point of paying for a second opinion before an inspection rather than hearing it during one. Where the data simply cannot answer the question, the review says that too — it cannot create evidence that was never captured.
- Who reviews the report?
- A person, using the same deterministic calculation engine that powers the free calculators on this site for any recalculation. Nothing is issued on the strength of a model's output alone: the engine computes, and a reviewer decides.
- Can you run the mapping study for us?
- No. We do not place loggers or attend site. We analyse the data you captured and review what you or your contractor wrote about it.
