Skills Matrix and Training Needs Analysis
Competence levels per person per activity and identified training needs.
Purpose
The skills matrix shows the competence level of each person for each activity and role against the competence profile, and the training needs analysis records the gaps and the plan to close them. It supports the annual training plan and the identification of single-person dependencies (clause 6.2.2 to 6.2.5).
What it covers
- Part A - Skills matrix (target / current level)
- Part B - Training needs and plan
- Authorisation
How to complete it
- 1.Update at least annually before management review and when personnel or scope change.
- 2.Level codes: 0 = no competence required; 1 = awareness; 2 = trainee (supervised); 3 = competent and authorised (FRM-16); 4 = expert / can train and assess others.
- 3.Enter the target level for the role and the current level; where current < target, record the training need, method, priority and target date in Part B.
- 4.Highlight activities with only one person at level 3 or above as a resilience risk (transfer to FRM-10).
